Calling advice

Before you make your call, make sure to:

• have something to write down
• prepare your questions in advance
• Check the hours of operation of the department you wish to reach
• have your file ready
• ask to speak to the person who has already processed your file
• Ask the person you are speaking to to give you your file number. This will save you time if you need to contact them again later.
• avoid calling during peak hours (11:00 am - 2:00 pm)
